This past summer I decided to create a series of portraits that would show the members of the Madison Scouts past their performance and into a more personal side of them, and into the relationship that I built with them. I decided to call this series 'Locked Eyes' and centered it around a very similar composition from portrait to portrait.
I chose to take each photo as a landscape from directly in front of and close to each person at a wide angle, centering each of them and focusing exclusively on their face and upper body. To me, this feels so very personal, which is ultimately symbolic of the relationship I try to build with each member of the Madison Scouts in order to build trust and document them organically.
